All About

Lynae

I grew up in central Minnesota and then moved to Fargo for college and never left. I obtained both my masters and doctoral degrees in counseling from North Dakota State University. Since graduating I have worked in a variety of roles in the mental health field and have also been involved in teaching and researching about mental health.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in North Dakota. I focus primarily on work with adults and I am an ally for LGBTQIA and advocate for social justice and equality. My approach to therapy has been influenced by the work of Dr. Brene Brown and am I trained in her clinical approach, The Daring Way as a Certified Daring Way Facilitator. I enjoy helping others identify and work on shame, shame resiliency, and self-compassion.  My approach and interventions focus on the whole person and meeting each person’s needs as an individual. Therapy is not one size fits all! I incorporate a variety of self-compassionate, shame resiliency interventions and other creative, integrative practices in my practice.  I consider myself a continual learner and am always learning more interventions and approaches and am open to new ideas.

Two of my favorite quotes from Brene Brown that have influenced me professionally and personally:

“Show up. Be Seen. Answer the Call”. -Brene Brown

“Loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the bravest thing we’ll ever do”. -Brene Brown

I look forward to authentically showing up with you and creating a space where we can both walk in our stories.

Let's Heal Together!
