All About

Emily

Hello! I am so glad your found your way to us! I know when I'm looking for a new provider I do a lot researching trying to figure out if that person is the right person for me. So here's the nitty gritty!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I started in social work because of my time as an active duty Army spouse. I have lived in a few different places, including a short stint in South Korea!
I stumbled into therapy as a career because I was having a hard time connecting with most therapy services I'd run across. I had worked as a child protection work for the state of Kansas. I was also providing mental health and chemical dependency services at a medical hospital for both inpatient and emergency room settings. During graduate school at the University of North Dakota I was shocked to discover...I like working with teenagers! Thus I began the journey of service to adolescents through the inpatient and partial hospitalization programs at a local mental health hospital. After a couple of years I transitioned to outpatient therapy services in an agency setting.
Still, I was having a hard time. I felt stifled and constrained. So in 2019, I went out on my own and I haven't looked back!

I am specifically trained in EMDR and TF-CBT. I also provides interventions through CBT concepts, mindfulness practices, and a bunch of other integrative and creative approaches to therapy!

In my "spare" time I enjoy spending time with my lovely husband, my quirky and amazing teenage boys, and my herd of dogs and cats. I also enjoy crochet, baking, crafting with my Cricut, and pretending I'm on a Broadway stage while I drive around belting musical numbers.

*Please note that as Clinical Director appointments and availability for new clients is very limited.
